In June, Masha Gordon broke the speed records for the Seven Summits Challenge (climbing the highest peak on each continent) and the Explorer's Grand Slam (the Seven Summits plus reaching the North and South Poles). Contrary to what you might think, Masha isn't a lifetime climber. After 16 years in the finance industry at Goldman Sachs and PIMCO, she switched her focus to mountaineering. Masha is the founder of GRIT&ROCK, a mission to get more young women interested in mountaineering.
In the first half of this episode, we talk about the parallels of decision making in the mountains and in the markets. How do confirmation bias, randomness, and our emotions impact how we evaluate situations? In the second half, Masha talks about how mountaineering has very little female participation and what needs to happen to fix it.
That for me has been the biggest discovery: you can tap into the mental endurance that we as women have and leverage that in what looks like an impossible challenge.

MtnMeister T-Shirt
By: MtnMeister
If you are like me, you have a few "go-to" t-shirts in your drawer that you find yourself wearing more frequently than others. My goal with the MtnMeister shirt was to make this one of those shirts. I chose a super-soft and functional blend (4.3-ounce, 50/50 ring spun combed cotton/poly). The shirt has a fitted shape and a clean design for both casual and active use. Finally, I chose heather colors for a textured look that complements the clean design.
